Privacy Policy

Introduction

ReimburseKid ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud database and storage platform. Access is restricted by row-level security policies so that only you and the members of your group can read your group's data.

Receipt images are held in private storage. They are not publicly accessible by URL; the app retrieves them using short-lived links that expire. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Payment details. When you add, change or remove your payment details, your co-parent is notified, and the activity log records that they changed. The log keeps only the IBAN's country code and last four characters (for example "NL…4300"), never the full IBAN, the account holder's name or your usernames. Removing your payment details, or deleting your account, deletes them from our database; the masked activity-log line stays part of your group's shared record.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your expense data is only shared with members of your family group within the app. When you tap PayPal or Revolut on the Pay screen, the app opens your co-parent's public PayPal.me or Revolut.me link with the amount; what happens next is between you and that service.

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, and shared ledger data as described below. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app, under Profile → Delete Account. You may also contact us to request deletion.

What deletion removes, and what it keeps: deleting your account removes your login credentials, email address, payment details (IBAN, account holder's name, PayPal.me name and Revolut username), subscription record, pending invitations, and push notification tokens. Because expenses are a shared ledger between the members of a group, the expense entries you created are retained, with your name replaced by "Deleted account", so that the other member's financial history and outstanding balance remain accurate and complete. What you entered on those expenses (descriptions, amounts, receipt photos, and notes on disputes and payments) stays part of that shared record. To have your group's data removed entirely once neither parent uses ReimburseKid, contact us and we will delete it. The activity log for your group's expenses is kept for the same reason: it is the shared, tamper-evident record both parents rely on.

Children's Privacy

ReimburseKid is intended for use by adults. It is not directed to children and is not designed for children to use. We collect nothing from children themselves. A parent may enter a child's first name, which is used only to tag expenses with the child they were for.

Expenses you record may describe costs relating to a child (for example a school fee or a medical bill). This information is entered by you, is visible only to the members of your group, and is never used for advertising or shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
